Makau fish hook necklace is a traditional Hawaiian fish hook carved from bone or wood. Fish hooks are worn for good luck strength and prosperity. Worn by the ancient fishermen to bring luck on their fishing journeys. The Makau and its variations are all hand carved by Tapa Muamoholeva on the island of Oahu. Tapa originally from the island of Tonga, is a master carver in bone and wood. Each piece is hand carved with no two the same, making every carving its own work of art.
